What?

Church Free Web is a place to get help accessing free (and ultra low cost) stuff for UK churches.

Why?

Because your digital fabric is important to mission, and it deserves to be developed carefully and creatively.

Who?

I’m Jeremy Parsons, a Church of England minister. My title is Rector of Harwell and Chilton Churches, two lovely villages as well as new developments to the west of Didcot. You can probably guess I’m also a bit of a geek.

How?

The blog posts here will contain lots of fairly general information you can use to do it all yourself. I also help churches (and church-affiliated organisations) in groups, which lets us dig into more detail, sometimes via live help sessions.

Where?

Online, of course! Sign up to find out more.

Bonus

I thought it might be interesting for a few people if I documented the process of setting up and operating this site. If that’s you, visit the Reflection page

From Word to Web with WordPress

WordPress is today, and will likely be for years to come, the go-to way to turn words and ideas into websites. Here’s an overview of this WordPress site.

First Live Help Session – Sign Up Now

Hooray! There’s now both a website for Church Free Web and also a private Facebook group, to be a social hub and a place to host live help sessions. You should be part of both.

We Need To Talk About Email

I’m going to be provocative and opinionated about email, because I think every church that can get Microsoft or/and Google nonprofit services really ought to to do so.

Domain Names

Domain names are at the core of making the Internet usable. Registering a domain name is often the start of building your digital resources.
